Walking On History
Everyday these people walk their dogs across a field which was once the epicentre of a Roman age settlement. Today this community centres around dogs and their owners.
Gosbecks Archaeological Park in Colchester was once home to a Roman temple, theatre and road. The remains of which can be seen today through the markings on the ground, under the feet of those who roam the field with their dogs.
The people and dogs photographed in this body of work walk through this, once thriving, environment every day. Mirroring the Romans that once invaded and caused the settlement to collapse in AD 43.
Today, people have come together to create their own settlement and community. All with one thing in common that brings them together from all walks of life; their dogs.
